Our company conducts large-scale work to ensure environmental safety, preservation, and restoration of natural resources. We strive to improve our environmental protection activity continually, based on priority areas for environmental safety improvement. Every year, we set corporate environmental objectives and KPIs across all levels and functions within the Company. We use these objectives to formulate specific tasks and action plans to implement the Environmental Strategy efficiently.
Our people follow the Integrated Management System Policy across our production sites. Our dedicated annual environmental programs at facilities include action plans that enable the effective management of environmental matters related to our operations at all stages. With ongoing improvement of the corporate management system, we progressively enhance the CEMS performance.
Umm Said Refinery assures that its operations have no negative impact on the biodiversity in the areas where it conducts its production activities. The company actively monitors and protects the biodiversity of these areas through compensatory measures. For aquatic biological resources, Umm Said Refinery collaborates with local offices of the Qatar Aquatic Fisheries Research Center to provide artificial reproduction and release of juvenile fish into water bodies.
The company also finances the rearing of valuable fish and release of fry into their natural habitats to further enhance these aquatic biological resources.
