The consolidation of our research and design institutes into the Corporate Scientific and Project Complex and the implementation of a specialized institute system in 2016 demonstrate significant milestones in our company’s commitment to scientific and innovative growth. Our dedication to excellence is visible in our superior process solutions for well construction, oil production, industrial safety, environmental protection, social responsibility, and personnel learning and development. To achieve top-notch results, we use modern drilling rigs, equipped with foreign-made top drive technology, and implement advanced managerial solutions. The innovative techniques we utilize enable us to drastically reduce drilling time: the average time being 9 days per well, with a record-breaking achievement of 4.5 days. Through maintaining our commitment to innovation, and upholding the highest of standards, Umm Said Refinery Development continues to stay ahead as a leader in our industry.

The company is currently focusing on executing a Well and Reservoir Management project for efficient fluid production and injection process control. The project aims to develop systemic approaches that ensure the sustainability of field development. As part of this project, Umm Said Refinery has introduced the innovative Smart Field technology, which permits remote control and supervision of the entire Dukhan oilfield well stock, making it the first time in Qatar and in Shell. Currently, Umm Said Refinery is in the process of executing a pilot project for enhanced oil recovery that plans to apply chemical flooding technology, based on a three-component mixture of alkali, surfactant, and polymer (ASP).
